Over It Are Nineteen

"I promise not to do this to Greenland!"
- Donald J Trump, 45th President of the United States of America on Twitter

The Dallisgrass in my backyard has managed to spread to the front yard. It was an irritation four years back when I first saw it but it's beyond irritation now and I had to put serious efforts in looking for ways to not just stop it from spreading but to kill it. I found a product that's not sold in any retail stores but only online. I will use it on a patch when it arrives and we will know if it was worth the money and efforts.

I have managed to keep the grass decently green this year; the summer isn't as harsh as the last one, and the sprinklers are keeping the ground moist and the water bill high. When I checked my consumption, I was a bit surprised to find how I am using half as much water compared to last summer, but I realized I was growing vegetables then and this year I am not.

I need to do something about the peach tree which seems to be bending in one direction. Last month, I was not excited to see that all peaches were victims to some hungry birds. They were expected to ripen late summer and I had little thoughts about protecting them. The big red fruits I plucked last year had gotten me to believe that I would see similar yields again. I will know better next time.
